“We always perform our songs in the style of the Original Artist because that’s the Fastest, Easiest and Best Way to pack the dance floor.
Ideally, we want the guests to hear a song intro and just REACT – jump up and dance. No need to try to figure out what the band is playing – You always name the song in three notes with us”
First Dance: “When You Say Nothing at All” – Ronan Keating
Our String Quartet plus Harpist for the prelude and ceremony was followed by a Jazz Trio for the cocktail reception and the “relentless” Charles St. Paul Dance Band for the wedding reception. A special thanks to Bill Spinner, Mark Hunsch and the sensational catering team at the Pierre Hotel for always helping us make our performance so smooth. Bravo !

I hope all is well. I know this is long overdue, but I just wanted to shoot you a quick note to thank you for the wonderful job you and the band did at our wedding. The dance floor was packed all night long, and people are still talking about what an amazing time they had. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
The 1st Dance was a favorite retro classic, “I Only Have Eyes For You” – the version requested was from the movie A Bronx Tale - The Complextions added an acapella intro to the familiar Flamingos 1959 hit.

You are the Man !! Our guests loved your band we are so glad we chose you and your outrageously talented musicians. You played all those Soul and Funk favorites we wanted and then you Rocked The House just like you said you would. The raves from our friends keep coming in!
The 14 piece Charles St. Paul Dance Band and the packed Mandarin Oriental Hotel Dance Floor

“We produce this event every year and we never repeat a band, but this year everyone wanted the Charles St. Paul Band back again. Thanks so much for making our event so memorable for our client company and all their attendees.
“Michael! Charles was fantastic–and really worked well when the guests wanted to change things up a bit. I have another client for him so I’ll speak to you soon.
Thanks so much” - Amy, Chandelier Events

Michael,
Angie and I just wanted to personally thank you for everything you did for us before and during the wedding. Your advice and professionalism were much appreciated.
The reviews are in and they have all been spectacular. It was a night with the Best Band possible, which we will never forget.
Destination weddings always take a little extra effort by everyone from guests to vendors, but the pay off is usually nothing short of fantastic. Martha’s Vineyard hosted 30 weddings on the island on this September weekend and we understand the popularity.
The Charles St. Paul Band performed and a special guest made a surprise musical performance. ”Play some funk and I’ll join you” said Rick Marotta, wedding guest and former drummer for John Lennon, Meat Loaf, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Sheryl Crow and so many other legendary performers.

Rick sitting in with the Charles St. Paul Band on “We Want the Funk” and “Pick up the Pieces” was a great surprise and fantastic party moment for the guests …and the band too.
Hi Michael,
I just wanted to say thank you to you and the Charles St. Paul band for making our wedding a night to remember! Sascha and I had the most amazing time, as did our families and all of our guests. We have heard so many compliments about how great the band was, so I thought I would share it with you. Pretty much every guest at the party danced non-stop the entire night. Please pass along my message to Charles and his crew, and feel free to use me as a reference anytime.
I’ve sent a few pictures that I thought you might enjoy. A few are of the band, and I’ve also included a few of Rick Marotta, one of our wedding guests who jumped in to play the drums for a song, as well as my uncle John Pollack who sang his famous rendition of Mustang Sally.
For a lovely couple on the evening of Hurricane Irene’s arrival to New York City, our Star Talent Charles St. Paul Band performed for a wonderful wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel New York.

I’m Confessin’
A resounding “Thanks!” to Steve Rice of Great Performances at The Plaza for always making our performance go so smoothly and we have to mention the beautiful decor by Lawton Tootle and our friends at Floralia Decorators. The Bentley-Meeker Sound Techs and the ever-present Hechler Studios were also a part of a fantastic team of vendors that created a great party inside… as the City fought Hurricane Irene outside.
Our Star Talent Charles St. Paul Bandtraveled to the Greenville Country Club in Delaware to perform a Rockin party for a lovely New York wedding couple.

One of the highlights of the evening was when the Father of the Bride launched into singing his Rockin’ rendition of the Guns N’ Roses Rock Anthem “Sweet Child of Mine.”
"A Stonhenge of our time" - The rolling fields of sculpture at Nova's Ark Project in Water Mill
On an almost 100 acre land preserve, Nova’s Ark Project is an installation of large-scale public art sculptures placed in rolling fields, grassy meadows and scenic hills in Water Mill located on Long Island’s South Fork between Southampton and Bridgehampton.
Featuring guests singing at weddings is fun, but when its the Groom singing “The Way You Look Tonight” to the Bride, it doesn’t get better!
The Charles St Paul Band… The Packed Dance Floor… and Empty Tables Everywhere at 583 Park Avenue
A fantastic crowd partied with our Charles St Paul Band at a wonderful wedding at 583 Park Avenue.
The Bride and Groom even gave a Jennifer Grey / Patrick Swazye worthy rendition to their First Dance “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” and when The Charles St. Paul Band brings is up to today’s version of The Black Eyed Peas “The Time” you have that perfect blend of old and new that packs all ages on to the dance floor. (see those empty tables above)
We always enjoy working with the excellent catering team at 583 Park Avenue and The Rose Group. We always appreciate their great attention to detail that makes our presentation flow so smoothly.
For a wedding at the beautiful Sagamore Hotel this past weekend…
This “Country” wedding began with an “Urban” sound as the Bride and Groom entered the room to a hot rendition of Jay-Z and Rihanna’s “Run This Town” performed by the Charles St. Paul Band.

“Your band was fantastic and kept our party on the dance floor all night. We knew we had a dancing crowd but you took us to another level. Thanks so much. Everything was just as fantastic as we had envisioned it… and even more so.”
Jodi Applegate, WPIX Anchor and Yankee Broadcaster Michael Kay
Last night the wedding of Channel 11′s Jodi Applegate and Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay at the Plaza Hotel can only be described as an absolute Grand Slam.
Managing the ceremony from home plate was Mayor Rudy Giuliani to a combined crowd of Yankee and Broadcast TV Stars.
During the ceremony, our elegant string ensemble performed “At Last” for the groom (this being his first walk down the aisle ) and for Jodi, a lovely arrangement of the “Love Theme from the film “Somewhere in Time”
The first dance was a swinging version of Michael Bublé’s “I Just Hadn’t (sic) Met You Yet”
And later in the night, the crowd roared when Michael got up to sing “Build Me Up Butter Cup” with the Charles St. Paul Dance Band.
Performing Yankee Anthem.. Jay-Z s “Empire State of Mind”
One of the many highlights of the evening included a sultry version of “Besame Mucho” sung by the groom’s uncle, Film Actor Danny Aiello.

Listen to his Sultry and Swinging version of Besame Mucho (Kiss me Much) as he sang it to Jodi and Michael -
As Danny said, “If I knew your band was so good I would have sung another one. You guys were fantastic!”
It was the Star Talent, Charles St. Paul Dance Band that led this championship crowd to a non-stop, packed dance floor. From Swinging Sinatra to Retro Dance Hits of the 70′s and 80′s on up to the Yankee Anthem, Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” - As one ecstatic guest put it “This band is the perfect party band.”
The Packed Plaza Hotel Dance Floor
As Jodi said “My goal was to make it the greatest party that anyone has ever been to.” and the guests said “Home Run !” to that. MORE
We have to mention the meticulous work of Great Performances, the catering team at the Plaza, led by Dean Martinus and Steve Rice, the talented and omnipresent photo team led by David Hechler of Hechler Studios, the elegant decor from Tantawan Bloom and the creative lighting & sound team from Bentley Meeker that all helped make our performance a great success.
From the ceremony right thru the reception, so many people have raved about the whole evening— but they always focus on how great the band was. Including very musically knowledgeable people. Lots of people ( especially older types and VIPs ) who say they never dance— were out there dancing!!
Thank you so much for all the hard work and extra effort!!!
